Silver Slipper - The Power Within Us

In the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, L.Frank Baum details in the end that Dorothy has the means with her to return home. The Wizard goes on to say that she has possessed the transportation to return home ever since her landing in Oz. And the Wizard then points to her shoes. In the movie, it was the beautiful and very memorable ruby red slippers. In the book, however, the slippers were silver.

The moral of the story, I took away from this movie was that all of us have the power within – the Scarecrow always had a brain (read the book and you will clearly see L. Frank Baum intended it this way all throughout the book), the Tin Man always had a heart and the lion was courageous. All of us want more and to be better. The excellence that we are striving for is within each of us. And for Dorothy the impossible was possible - the Wizard simply gave her the directions with clicking her heals three times with her ruby red shoes.

This is true in life. If we want something we do have the ability and the tools or we can find the people to help to make all things possible. That is what this blog is about. What can we do ourselves. How can we change and affect changes in our country and in our world. The Silver Slipper blog is not about complaining, it is about constructive actions to make the world a better place.
