Please allow us to give a bit of background before we tell you how the Ozone system from VeriPure has helped our family.
On September 29th, 2008, one of the worst nightmares a parent can face...became a reality for our family. Our 3 year-old daughter Alexis was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). As you can imagine, this came as a complete surprise to us and we were completely unprepared for how life would change dramatically for us. In the first 6 months of treatment, over 70 days were spent in the hospital, in part due to a serious infection that Alexis had gotten from a bone marrow draw. We almost lost Alexis to infection, however, a tough spirit and emergency surgery helped us save our little girl.
Our life changed in a blink...we needed to have sanitizer in every room of our house. We could not touch Alexis unless we sanitized our hands and we had to continually put sanitizer on her hands as well. This was a concern because a toddler’s hands automatically go into their mouth and to have sanitizer continually on her hands worried us. But her oncologists told us that it was necessary. Alexis’ back had a growth about the size of a wine cork removed and it left a hole that we had to re-pack with sterilized gauze and medicine for approximately 2 months. This was excruciatingly painful for Alexis...and took time to heal.
Then came our VeriPure Ozone system. Our life became a bit easier to manage. Instead of using sanitizer, we can now wash our hands in the sink. Our hands no longer break out into rashes from so much sanitizer. We could put the water on Alexis' back around the edges to help the surgical spot heal. Below we have listed additional ways that VeriPure has helped us keep our daughter safe.
1.) Fresh vegetables and fruit are washed under our VeriPure system to assure us of removing bacteria for Alexis' low immune system.
2.) We pre-wash any other food, such as meat etc. that we will be cooking.
3.) We wash the top of drinks or cans for Alexis as many germs are carried on the tops of these from warehouses.
4.) Drinking the water puts us at ease...as we have a well system and it assures us that she is getting "clean" water.
5.) We are able to re-use the medicine syringes that she takes by mouth. (Except for chemo syringes which have to be thrown out after each use.) A disposable syringe for medicine can run around .20 cents per syringe. Alexis can take anywhere from 1 to 20+ different medicines a day. With the max being 2 chemo's at home per day...meaning 2 syringes have to be thrown. The others can be re-washed (NOW with confidence.) and re-used for other liquid medicines. Alexis will be receiving treatment for approximately 3 years.
With all of our medical bills and everything that is not covered, the VeriPure system definitely helps the health of our family...also in cost savings. We are blessed to be able to use this system...as we are doing everything in our power to be able to tell the world that our daughter is a SURVIVOR.
